Each of us views the world through a different lens. Our lens, our view point, is formed by our cultural background, our life experiences, the company that we keep, and the various things that we allow ourselves to see and hear. That being said, it is likely that my idea of success is different than your idea of success, which may be different that your parents’ idea of success. So the question is….. How do YOU define SUCCESS?
Does your definition of success involve a minimum salary requirement or a certain amount of possessions ? Is your idea of success based on an element of power or creditials? Do you define success with a sense of popularity or fame? Or do you define success based on satisfaction? Achievement? Or maybe impact?
Where does your definition come from? Do you base your idea of success on what the world tells you it is? On what your parents tell you that it is? On what your friends tell you that it is? On what your critics say that it is, or isn’t? Or do you base your definition of success on internal cues? Spiritual cues? Maybe you define it however the dictionary defines it…
Merriam-Webster defines success as:
